The WNSC club desires to cultivate a passion for healthy lifestyle and cross country skiing for all ages and ability levels. With the generosity of donors from our Capital Campaign, our club owns youth classic, adult classic, and adult skate equipment, we are offering for rentals to club members! Please keep in mind this is a brand-new offering managed by volunteers, so there will be room for improvement. Currently, skiers must pay for daily rentals at Nine Mile which may not be used outside of Nine Mile. This rental program’s goals are to allow enthusiasts to affordably ski throughout the season at multiple venues.

Rental terms:

  • If rental requests exceed what the club can currently offer, the club may do the following: issue older equipment that the club has accumulated, issue rentals for a portion of the season, prioritize requests on a first-come, first-served AND size availability. Sizes are based on information provided below.

  • Rentals will be picked up as communicated in a follow-up email as volunteers can match requests with current inventory. If equipment is not picked up in a timely manner, equipment may be forfeited. If equipment does not fit based on sizing provided, it may be swapped based on volunteer and equipment availability.

  • The cost of rentals for the season is $50 plus a $100 deposit returned after all ski equipment is returned to the club in good condition. If writing a check, please write two separate checks to Wausau Nordic Ski Club, so the deposit check can be returned.

  • If damage to the equipment are determined by the club to be beyond normal wear-and-tear, some or none of the deposit will be returned. Note that during storage and transport of skis, the ski ties provided should always be used. Skis should not be used in low snow conditions on surfaces other than grass (especially not gravel or pavement).

  • Rentals will be returned in a timely manner. The club will be responsible for waxing skis.

  • Those that participate in the program will send a photo/testimonial to the club at rentals@wausaunordic.org and webmaster@wausaunordic.org to be shared with donors, club membership/newsletter, future program promotion, and/or social media. Families that choose to remain anonymous should provide content that is broader and clearly state the desire to be anonymous when sharing the content provided.
