WAUSAU — IRONBULL has named Melissa Teeple as its new executive director, bringing experience in endurance sports, event management and community development to the organization.
Teeple most recently served as director of the Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce, where she led efforts to increase engagement and revenue, revitalize legacy events and secure a $250,000 grant through a strategic funding initiative.
A former elite triathlete, Teeple transitioned to competitive cycling following an injury and has since traveled extensively by bike across the United States and internationally. Her background combines firsthand experience in endurance sports with professional leadership in community-based organizations.
“Melissa brings a strong combination of operational expertise and vision,” said Tim Buchholz, IRONBULL president. “She understands how to execute high-quality events while building meaningful connections within the community.”
“IRONBULL plays a critical role in driving visitation and elevating Wausau as Wisconsin’s Basecamp for outdoor recreation,” said Tim White, executive director of Visit Wausau. “Melissa’s leadership will help take that impact to the next level.”
In her role as executive director, Teeple will oversee IRONBULL’s operations, partnerships and strategic growth, with a focus on strengthening event execution, expanding participation and enhancing community impact.
“IRONBULL has built an incredible foundation,” Teeple said. “I’m excited to build on that momentum, strengthen partnerships and continue growing events that bring people together and showcase the Wausau area.”
IRONBULL produces endurance events and outdoor experiences designed to drive visitation, support local businesses and contribute to regional economic impact.
